The vineyard is situated in the Commune of St Mathiue de Tréviers within a radius of two kimometers around the Mas. Its surface area is 28 hectares of which a third is for the AOC Pic ST Loup.
The surrounding vegetation is made up of different typically Mediterranean, species : Holmoak, Aleppo pine, Arbutus, Juniper, Thyme, Laurel, Cade, Rosemary, Cistus which all make up the fragant bouquet of the Pic St Loup wines.
The land which is sheltered from the cold, dry north winds which blow in winter and spring is at an altitude of 130 meters. The soil is chalky clay with slight mixture of stone or marl.
The climate is the result of a mixture of the Mediterranean climate and Continental influence with high day time temperature and fairly cool night-time temperatures during the ripening of the grapes. The Mediterranean microclimate gives to the vines their delicacy and the diversity of their aromas.
The Grapes varieties are Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault for red and rose wines. The white wines are produced from the Viognier, Rolle.
Regular cheks for ripeness of the grapes make it possible to fix the date of harvesting from the different vines. Some parcels are harvested by hand while for the remainder the harvest is by machine.
